Five Oaks Ag Research & Education Center

George is passionate not only about conservation efforts, but also about educating those around him on how they too can conserve and preserve our natural resources. Because of his passion for educating others, George recently created a 501(c)(3) public charity better known as the Five Oaks Agriculture Research & Education Center (FOAgREC).

Through this nonprofit organization, his number one goal is to provide educational opportunities to people of all ages.

In December of 2020, Five Oaks Ag and Research Center announced a partnership with the University of Monticello and the Arkansas System division of Agriculture. This partnership focuses on forestry and wildlife research as well as a graduate certificate program in conservation and land management.

Each year, a group of students will be selected through an interview process to complete a graduate certificate program. During the program, each student will complete coursework at the University of Arkansas Monticello while simultaneously completing all fieldwork at Five Oaks. While completing their fieldwork, the students will live at Little Siberia Lodge, which is an adjoining property to Five Oaks which George bought to provide a dormitory and an adjacent laboratory. The lodge sits on an incredible piece of property to further the research and education efforts.

Through the “Five Oaks Ag and Research Center,” the staff at Five Oaks and Five Oaks Events are planning various camps for children, fieldtrips for schools as well as workshops for adults.

Participating in a conservation tour, will provide the unique opportunity to witness firsthand the research and scientific studies being conducted at Five Oaks Duck Lodge.
